Seeing Sade in concert has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember. The love affair started back in high school and has continued ever since. After years of waiting for her to go on tour, the release of her “Soldier of Love” album gave new hope to the possibility of seeing her live once and for all. And as soon as tickets went on sale, I made sure to swoop a pair up for me and Kleber. The months dragged on, but they day finally arrived – June 24 – the same day baby Anandra was born. And if it were any other concert, we would have skipped it altogether to be there for her arrival…but this is SADE folks! To say she was amazing live in an understatement. The woman is timeless: beautiful, sexy and most importantly, she can SING! The band was amazing too, bringing out the very best in the songstress and vice versa. She sang all the classics and plenty of the new tunes too – never a dull moment in the almost two hour show. It was an experience of a lifetime and one I will never forget. This may be the first, but I surely hope this won’t be the last time I get to enjoy this living legend in concert! Oh yes….and John Legend opened up for her too, which was just the icing on the cake. Never really been into his music, but he was an excellent performer and was an ideal choice as an opening act!
Jenny - Those pictures are fantastic! :) I love going to concerts. Sounds like it was amazing.
Life with Kaishon - I don’t know what she sings. She is very beautiful though. I am so glad that one of your dreams came true : )
I love dreams coming true!
Wishing you the happiest Friday.
You are all sorts of sensational Maddy.
All sorts.
dana - I cannot understand how you managed to get those amazing shots with so many people around!
I´m so happy for you getting to go there! I have never really listened to sade. just a song or two on the radio. I´ll have to look in to it now :)
Amy - Those photos are awesome! You always manage to amaze …
Stephanie Faris - Cool! I got to see Duran Duran in concert in my 20s, which was the realization of my adolescent dreams…but it turned out to be a disappointment for me. Not that they weren’t talented, but the MARRIED lead singer’s aggressive flirtation with a female groupie up near the stage was a bit of a let-down for me. I’m not sure what I expected…
Chavonne - those pictures are great, esp the first one. I really like Sade and John Legend but im not really into concerts.
Cafe Fashionista - I hope you plan on sending these photographs to Sade and/or her handlers/management, Maddy! I think they would be ecstatic to see them!
P.S. I’m so glad to hear that you had a fabulous time. Would you hate me if I confessed that I have never before heard Sade’s music? :/
Christina Lee - Those pics are amazing (the last one is my fave)!!
The Guilty Hyena - Ah…Sade reminds me of the 90’s, though I don’t know her songs very well besides the track ‘smooth operator’, it just occurred to me that she has a strikingly unique voice.
Piper - Oh Sade brings me back to the 90’s!! Bet it was a fantastic concert – would love to see her one day!
Camila Faria - I think everything about her is super sexy. Her voice, her style, her barefootness…
Nadette - OMG Maddy, this is why we’re friends! I saw Sade in baltimore on June 16th and I too have been obsessed with this woman since middle school. But HOW did you get your camera inside, because I was NOT allowed inside with my DSLR (and was quite sad about it). You also had way better seats than me, I’m so jelly! Your pictures are amazing, I will totally pay you for some prints (no seriously, inbox me!) because my only regret is that I have zero pictures from that evening, and it was one of the best concerts of my life, and will sooo see her again if she tours again (hopefully not with another 10 year gap)
Leia - I am SO jealous! I love Sade. She is so gorgeous and her music is wonderful.
Sarah - Dodeline Design - I guess I have to confess I don’t know who that is…but she is gorgeous!
Kristin - Wowza…You got some amazing shots of that show!
Corrine/Frock & Roll - Oh wow, Sade is amazing. The concert looks absolutely incredible!
Maegan - Oh wow, that sounds awesome! I love concerts, haven’t been in so long …. great photos, I feel like I’m there!
Julie - She is so amazing…I’ve loved her music for a long time, and I love how she’s in her bear feet. Enjoy your BBQ weekend, I’m thinking the beach may not be an option for me after all….I think it’s going to be another day of 114 outside. Maybe antiquing will be a better option! xo
Rosie - Those are phenomenal shots! That’s amazing that you got to see her after all this time, it must have been a truly fantastic experience.
daisymay - Wow your photos are amazing, and I’m glad you got to see someone you wanted to so much, I have no idea who she is but I may well look for some sound clips now

Keeley - Your photos are amazing (as usual!). I wish I had just paid the money to see her… the tickets were SO expensive here, so we passed on it. Maybe next time.
I have no idea how you got into that concern with a DLSR, but good for you! Great memories!
Buckeroomama - Madddddddyyyy!!! First of all, I’m super jealous that you got to see her live! Secondly, those photos –oh wow! They’re like pictures out of LIFE magazine.
