Over the summer, Piper asked if I’d be interested in taking some photos around Coney Island for the One Sydney Road Boardwalk Shop. It had been years since I stepped foot on the famous boardwalk. Actually, the last time I visited we went with a large group and we were having so much fun going on the rides and playing the various boardwalk games that we didn’t realize that my youngest sister had wandered off on her own (she was three at the time)! When my mom realized that my sister was missing, it was complete chaos and panic, as we all searched frantically for her. She was a ball of tears by the time she was describing her to the police when a stranger walked up to her holding my baby’s sisters hand. She had heard my mom’s cries and she knew that she had to be the mother of the lost little girl. It all ended well, but we never stepped foot in Coney Island again….that is until this trip! And guess who I brought along for the ride? My baby sister who is not a baby anymore, but still very much a wanderer and free spirit. Coney Island is just as enchanting now as adults, as it was years ago as a kids. I can’t thank Piper enough for giving me a good excuse to rediscover an old favorite!

Amy - What fun! I’ve always wanted to visit Coney Island . . . so thanks for allowing me to travel vicariously, for now. :)
And I haven’t visited One Sydney Road in forever–what in the world?
Angelia Sims - That is the coolest! Love all these shots. I would love to visit there. Wasn’t this where they filmed the Fortune Teller game in the movie Big?
Tiera - Love these photos! Coney Island is definitely on my bucket list :)
