I just couldn’t resist experimenting with some Christmas lights bokeh for this month’s Creativity Project theme using my latest DIY photography prop. I obsessed for weeks about vintage milk bottles for my nieces and nephews holiday photos. I was going to purchase them online, but after factoring in the cost of shipping, I decided to make my own using the Starbucks frappucino bottles. They are the perfect shape and size and super easy to find. It was only a matter of removing the branding and glue residue. After seeing how helpful the slow cooker was in removing the paint off our door knobs, I decided to try my luck with the glass bottles. I left them overnight with a little dish soap and in the morning, I was able to remove all the sticky gunk with a very light scrubbing. Four beautiful “vintage” milk bottles for only $5…sweet!
Now getting the kids to pose with the bottles was whole ‘nother story, but at least I had one fan.
