The Reason for the Season

After Hurricane Sandy and the tragedy of Sandy Hook Elementary, it’s hard to look forward to the holidays in the same way.  Despite how awful both things may seem at the moment and how hard corporate America and the media ram the latest gadget or gizmo down our throats,  I think both events have opened our eyes to the real importance of this season: FAMILY.  I’ve had the pleasure of documenting many in the last few weeks, but nothing gives me greater pleasure than documenting my own. Not because it’s easy (because our yearly holiday photo session is always a challenge!), but because they bring me joy every single day and this is the best way I know to return the favor. So without further ado….The Martinez Family:

I want to start by saying how much I love this couple: Priscilla & Ralphy (my sister-in-law and brother-in-law). Had Kleber and I wed the traditional way, I would’ve asked them to be our padrinos de boda.  Not only because we love them dearly, but because we admire them so much too. Somehow they manage to do it all and yet still find time to make everyone around them feel so special and loved. Whether it be with a delicious meal made by Ralphy in their cozy home or a thoughtful gift/gesture from Priscilla, their kindness and generosity knows no bounds. I’m so blessed to have them in my life!

And they’re responsible for these three loves: Bryan, Christian and Tyler! They keep life fun and interesting and know just what to do or say to make me feel like the luckiest aunt in the world – that is when they’re not driving me up the wall! I  ♥  you kids more than words can express!

Speaking of lucky: Priscilla, you’re definitely the luckiest girl! A household of handsome men…swoon!

I could go on and on, but I’ll just end with this:  You guys make all my days “merry and bright”. Love you now and always!
