How to Style Details Shots at an Event

For the last year and half, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph so many beautifully stylized events designed by the fabulous team at Baby Showers Inc.  And since I enjoy photographing all the beautiful details that Katherine and her team put together at each of these events, I thought it would be fun to discuss some helpful tips to take your detail pictures from nice to “WOW”. In this new world of Pinterest and Instagram, who doesn’t want to take their stylized photos to the next level?!  Below I’ve listed 5 simple tips to help you do just that.

I’ve been MIA the last few months and now you know why. I’ve been cooking up this sweet bundle of joy!  Nothing could have prepared me for the immense love I feel for this boy!  Life has certainly changed, but only for the better. Everything about him is absolutely perfect and I’m so blessed to be his mommy.  He makes even the darkest days bright. I’m still getting used to my new schedule and new life as a mom, but I do expect a few new blog posts before the holidays.  We have a lot of catching up to do before the end of the year…stay tuned!

This family session was extra special than most because it was also a pregnancy announcement! When Joanne contacted me about photographing her announcement photos, I was so excited to help her share her special news with her family and friends.  Little Maddie loved the camera and needed no guidance at all – she pretty much did her thing and I snapped away. I am so happy to report that this family welcomed a healthy baby boy earlier this year! Maddie’s only child title might have expired, but she’s clearly the superstar of the family as evidenced by their session. Here’s a flashback to their family session back in the Fall, when they were still a family of three.
