I guess I can credit Mad Men for my love affair with the 60’s. The hair, the makeup, the CLOTHES… Seriously, what’s not to love? At least once or twice a year, I like to do a “just for fun” styled shoot where I can play around with some new shooting techniques and get a little more creative than I would normally on a commissioned session (I played around with some off-camera flash for some of the shots- see if you can spot it in some of the images!). This shoot was organized alongside my wedding business partner, Mindy of Freckles and Dimples Photography. She happened to get us exclusive access to Martin Tower in Bethlehem, PA – the tallest building in the city and which was once the headquaters of the Bethlehem Steel Company. The building is currently vacant (and has been for awhile), but since it has the mid-century architecture and design elements, it was the perfect place for our styled shoot! I immediately loved and bonded with Jackie and Eric when I met them for the first time for their maternity session. They are such a beautiful and fun loving couple. I didn’t think it could get any better than photographing them….and then enter this handsome little guy! He literally stole the show during their family photo session! Even when he was pouting, I couldn’t help but smile at that adorable little face. We went back to the same park where we took their maternity photos for their family session and recreated some of the images we took the first time, so it was extra special! One of the things I love the most about being a photographer is that I get to be a part of the different seasons of my “families” lives. I see them through their teens, weddings, pregnancies, parenthood and beyond! And I so enjoyed being able to capture this new and exciting chapter for the K Family!
