Being a very low maintenance girl myself, I’ve always wondered what all the makeup fuss was about. But after working alongside Alfredo on a boudoir shoot last month and watching him work his magic, I am now a believer! It takes a true artist to transform a model from shy and fresh faced to sexy and confident with a few strokes of […]

Tag Archives: Mad AboutI wish I could take all the credit for these clever moving announcements, but the truth is I enlisted the help of stationery designer and friend Sarah of Dodeline Design to come up with something fun announcing our change of address to family and friends. A little late on my part, but better late than never! I […]

They are beautiful Maddy : ) I love everything about the,. Fab times one thousand.
February 20, 2012 - 8:54 am
i thought the address was a scratch off! like on a lotto ticket. i feel so dumb, haha.
February 20, 2012 - 9:21 am
Hahaha!!! No scratch off component, though that would be cool! I was just iffy about posting the announcement with our home address on it. Glad I put that disclaimer though! Wouldn’t want anyone else scratching their heads after seeing the photos ;o)
February 20, 2012 - 9:21 am
They are totally adorable and unique…just like you :)
February 20, 2012 - 9:32 am

Love!! This is SO much cuter than sending out a mass email like I would’ve done (laaaazy!)
February 20, 2012 - 11:38 am
LOVE them! And it’s so good to have a good designer on hand . . . I’ll have to keep her information for future reference!
February 20, 2012 - 3:48 pm
They’re lovely – and the perfect communication to your friends and family that you’ve got a new home.
February 20, 2012 - 8:58 pm
How delightful !! inviting and practical. I love letterpress designs on card I relish the idea of using such an old, traditional process in a modern way, simple but effective.
February 20, 2012 - 10:51 pm
Oh, these are so pretty! You always come up with these pretty ideas. :)

February 22, 2012 - 12:24 pm
Typical guy! Of course I could’ve written an email, but what’s the fun in that?! Plus it’s our first “permanent” address, so it deserved something special :)
February 22, 2012 - 3:44 pm
I so enjoyed getting this little card in the mail, I promptly put in my memory box!
February 23, 2012 - 2:17 pm

February 24, 2012 - 4:06 am
They’re so lovely! Love the color choices :)
February 26, 2012 - 9:49 pm
Great idea! Every once in a while I get the itch to actually make a warm breakfast (Kleber loves when that happens!) and pancakes are usually my go-to choice. Mine do not get the award for the prettiest or most inventive. And they are definitely not up to Cracker Barrel standards. They’re the “just add water” kind you find in a box at the grocery store. But […]

Haha, while I would most days prefer to make everything from scratch, I am, above all, practical. Days when I am feeling lazy or am pressed for time, I welcome whatever help I can get, in any form, =)

You must know I had to weigh in on this one! Up until about two years ago, I was a “just add water” kinda gal (except I’d substitute milk for water). About two years ago I discovered a from scratch buttermilk pancake recipe that changed my life… seriously. It only took an extra 7-10 minutes to prepare and the taste was better than our favorite diner back in NJ. I was sold and now I make pancakes and waffles from scratch. I don’t hate on the “just add water” mixes, though. I use this recipe for pancakes: http://www.keeleypowell.com/2010/07/buttermilk-pancakes.html This recipe for a healthier version (made with oatmeal and bananas!): http://www.keeleypowell.com/2010/12/oatmeal-pancakes-with-bananas-foster.html And finally, this awesome waffle recipe: http://www.keeleypowell.com/2011/01/waffles-of-insane-greatness.html Even if you don’t consider yourself to be a baker, I think you can handle these. All I ever need to do is remember to keep buttermilk in my fridge (and there isn’t any in there right now!).
January 29, 2012 - 10:17 am
Haha!! That comment about foodies was specifically directed at you and Nadette ;o) Just checked out the recipe – looks easy enough! Next time I’m at Shoprite, I’ll try to remember to pick up some buttermilk and do a comparison taste test. See if it makes much of difference when compared to my “just add water” ones.

I’m the ‘just add water’ type. Then again, I LOVE the look of pancakes, but I don’t like the taste; therefore, I just make them for my nephew and other family. These, however, look scrummy! :)
January 29, 2012 - 10:28 am
They do look good for the add water type. I do neither, I usually leave it to my sisters when it comes to making pancakes. My sister when she was a toddler use to pronounce them as ‘Panacakes’ adding the extra a, from time to time we still say it like that to her in gest. =)

I’m more of the go out to breakfast or have toast kind of person myself! Isn’t that ghastly? Even worse, since I’m totally old enough to know better! :)
January 30, 2012 - 8:13 am
Well, I never tried the ‘just add water’ type, but they sure look amazing! If they taste good, it really doesn’t matter what kind they are, right?
January 30, 2012 - 9:39 am
pancakes are the only thing i can actually cook! and i do make them from scratch! but usually i go for more carbs and have them with chocolate syrup! yum! honey, guess what? i’m going to the us in august for a whole year!!! yeeeii!!! i got a scholarship over there! tell you more about it later! have a lovely week!
January 30, 2012 - 9:40 am
You make them look absolutely mouth-watering, Maddy. Once a year would be my limit – to avoid immediate addiction.
January 30, 2012 - 4:54 pm
I am a huge pancake fan too! Yum!
February 2, 2012 - 12:23 am
Your pictures make me want pancakes. Like, NOW! haha!

You know I’m from scratch! I love panckaes sooooo much, I’m obsessive about making them perfect! But I have to say, these look good for “add water” variety. mmm pancakes! |
